The conference is co-sponsored by the Oxygen Club of California, which will organize a conference in 2010 on "Oxidants and Antioxidants in Biology" in Santa Barbara, California, co-sponsored by the Linus Pauling Institute. If you would like to know how you can support the conference, please contact the Linus Pauling Institute at 541-737-5075 or email us at lpi@oregonstate.edu.
Registration at pre-meeting rates is available now until April 10, 2009, and abstracts for posters can be submitted between now and March 6, 2009.
The conference features a poster session, allowing scientists to share their latest research findings. The three most outstanding posters presented by graduate students or post-doctoral fellows will receive Young Investigator Awards.
A highlight of the conference will be the award ceremony for the fifth Linus Pauling Institute Prize for Health Research. This international award, consisting of a medal and $50,000, recognizes innovative research into the role of diet and micronutrients in health promotion and disease prevention, and the role of oxidative and nitrative stress in disease pathology. The prize winner will present the last talk of the day on Friday, May 15, 2009.
Don't miss the free public session on Saturday, May 16, 2009, featuring Marion Nestle, Paulette Goddard Professor at New York University and award-winning author of several books on food politics and safety.
