Oxidative/Nitrative Stress Core Laboratory

Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art analytical chemistry support to researchers for the evaluation of antioxidant status and oxidative stress.

ONSL is now housed in a purpose-built laboratory in the newly opened Linus Pauling Science Center.

Description of ONSL Facilities

Analysis of biological samples for antioxidants and oxidative biomarkers

• Analysis of vitamins C and E, and other antioxidants
• Analysis of isoprostanes, 25-OH vitamin D, and other biomarkers by HPLC-tandem mass spectrometry
• Current Projects in ONSL

Supervision and maintenance of the following analytical instruments:

• Hitachi HPLC with UV and Fluorescence Detectors
• Waters HPLC with Photodiode Array and ECD
• Shimadzu HPLC with Dual Wavelength UV Detector
