Dr. Donald J. Reed was an early pioneer in glutathione research. His work shaped how today’s scientists view the intersection between toxicity, antioxidants, and stress response. As an active member of Oregon State University's faculty, Dr. Reed played many roles within the University including the Director of OSU's Environmental Health Sciences Center (also known as the Pacific Northwest Center for Translational and Environmental Research) and the first interim director for the Linus Pauling Institute.
Dr. Reed passed away peacefully on March 10, 2022, at 91. The Linus Pauling Institute and the Pacific Northwest Center for Translational and Environmental Research held a memorial symposium in honor of his life and career on September 9, 2022. A video recording of the symposium can be found below.
